Question 11033: I'm trying to graph linear inequalities, i'm want to know that if i divide greater/less than AND equal to problem that is negative do i flip the sign to being opposite of the orginal sign?
ex if -2y >or= -x+4...i divide both side by -2, and i'm wanting to know if it becomes y or= 1/2x-2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Yes, whenever you multiply or divide by ANY negative number, the < or > swap around.

You could say the same about =, but of course swapping it, it still looks the same ;-)

eg 2 < 5 is valid

now multiply by 3...
6 < 15 .. still valid

now multiply by -1
-6 < -15 is not true anymore...-15 is now smaller.

so, we need to write
-6 > -15
