Question 1102664: One of Maria and Josie’s early tasks is printing and laminating signs to hang at local businesses around town. Working alone, Maria could print and laminate the signs in 4 hours. Josie, however, has better laminating equipment, so she could get the job done by herself in 2 hours. If each works for the same amount of time, how long will it take them working together to print and laminate the signs?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Maria makes 1%2F4 of the job per hour.

Josie makes 1%2F2 of the job per hour.

Working together, they make 1%2F4 + 1%2F2 = 1%2F4 + 2%2F4 = 3%2F4 of the job per hour.

Hence, it will take 4%2F3 hours = 11%2F3 hours = 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete the job working together.
