I believe tutor Ikleyn's
x = %28-4%29%2F2 = -1%2F2
should be
x = %28-4%29%2F8 = -1%2F2.
It has been corrected.
Lightning Fast read the problem as
(Six less than eight) times a number equals negative ten
(8-6) * x = -10
rather than
Six less than (eight times a number) equals negative ten
8x - 6 = -10
