I need help setting it up I did:
6+2x=14

2x=8
2. 2
X=8
but I don’t know if it right

You're on the right track; however, you forgot to divide the 8 by 2. The answer is x = 4 (not x = 8)
Here's how you check the answer. Go back to the original equation and replace x with 4
6+2x = 14
6+2*x = 14
6+2*x = 14
6+2*4 = 14 ... replace x with 4
6 + 8 = 14
14 = 14 ... true equation
Since the last equation is true, this means the first equation is true when x = 4
In other words, Eugene bought 4 candy bars spending 2*4 = 8 dollars on candy bars. This is in addition to the 6 dollars for the magazine. In total, 6+8 = 14 dollars was spent
