its complement = 90°-x

One angle is three less than twice its complement.



Notice how the words "three less than" come BEFORE the
words "twice its complement".  However the algebra
translation is "twice its complement MINUS three", and
the "minus three" comes AFTER the "twice its complement".



Solve that for x, 

(you can drop the degree symbols if you like, but
put them back in for your final answers)

What x equals will be one angle, then subtract that 
from 90° to get its complement.
