O/P = 3/5 -> O = (3/5)P
After consuming 1/4 of the oranges and 1/2 of the papayas, there are 16 more papayas than oranges left.
The remaining papayas - the remaining oranges = 16
P/2 - (3/4)O = 16
But O = (3/5)P
P/2 - (3/4)(3/5)P = 16
P/2 - (9/20)P = 16
P/20 = 16
P = 320
Thus O = (3/5)*320 = 192
So initially there were 192 oranges and 320 papayas
