~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Silt volume is  1 cubic ft + 0.1*5 cubic ft = 1.5 cubic ft.
The total volume is 1 cubic ft + 5 cubic ft = 6 cubic ft.
The ratio of the silt volume to the total volume is  1.5%2F6 = 0.25 = 25%.
Answer.  25%.  Option B).
The original amount of silt was,
5%2810%2F100%29=50%2F100=0.5ft%5E3
Now there is,
0.5%2B1=1.5ft%5E3 of silt
And there is a total of 5%2B1=6 mixture.
So the new concentration is,
C=%28%283%2F2%29%2F6%29%2A100
Work that out for the answer.
