You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You should concern yourself with how to solve the problems.
Not with "what equation?"

.
Let D be that "one way" distance, in miles.

The time spent on the way to the library is D%2F6 hours.

The time spent on the way back is D%2F12 hours.

The equation for the total time spent is

D%2F6 + D%2F12 = 2   hours.      //  This equation is the DIRECT translation of the condition (!)

To solve it, multiply both sides by 12. You will get

2D + D = 2*12  ====>  3D = 24  ====>  D  = 24%2F3 = 8.

Answer. One way distance is 8 miles.

Check.   Time "to there"" = 8%2F6 = 4%2F3 hours.

         Time back        = 8%2F12 = 2%2F3 hours

                            4%2F3 + 2%2F3 = 6%2F3 = 2 hours.    ! Correct !

Solved.
