your equation becomes 20 + x = 2 * (5 + x)
simplify this equation to get 20 + x = 10 + 2x
subtract 10 from both sides of this equation and subtract x from both sides of this equation to get 10 = x.
that's your solution.
in 10 years, you will be twice as old as your brother.
20 + 30 = 30
5 + 10 = 15
30 is two times 15.
