You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let q be quarters and f be half-dollars. Then q=3f. So:
25q+50f=1125
then:
75f+50f=1125
125f=1125
f=9
q=27

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x= 50 cent pieces
3x= quarters
.50x + .25(3x)=11.25
1.25x=11.25
x=9 50 cent pieces
3x=27 quarters. This is $4.50+$6.75=$11.25
