Question 1096987: a parking lot is 60 meters wide and 80 meters long. at $15 per square meter, how much will it cost to pave the parking lot?
How did you get the $72,000? Dividing 15/4800 is giving me a different number?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Why would you be dividing? Each square meter costs $15 to pave; there are 60*80=4800 of them. Sounds like a clear case for multiplying....

PER signifies each.
If it costs $15, per sq meter ($15 for EACH sq meter), to pave 4,800 (60 * 80) sq meters, should you MULTIPLY or DIVIDE? Think about it!
