You can put this solution on YOUR website! If a Ferris wheel turns at 0.6 rpm and is 28 ft. in diameter, what is the speed of the end of a spoke in feet per minute?
:
Find the circumference of the wheel. 28' is the diameter, therefore
C = 87.96 ft
This is the distance the end of spoke travel in 1 revolution.
It travels .6 rev in 1 minute
.6 * 87.96 = 52.78 ft/min is the speed of the end of the spoke
