Hi
mr watson is 7 times as old as his son. His son was 4 years old last year.how old will his son be when mr watson is 60 years old.
Thanks
Last year son was 4 so son is now 5 years-old
Mr. Watson's age: 7(5) = 35
Difference in ages: 30 (35 - 5)
When Mr, Watson is 60, difference will remain 30, so son will be: highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C4%2C+60+-+30%2C+%22=%22%2C+30%2C+years-old%29%29

Just my kudos to tutor MathTherapy for showing that the formal methods of algebra are not always the best thing to use to solve a problem

By far the best way to solve this problem is to USE YOUR BRAIN to analyze the problem logically, the way he did. That's much better exercise for your brain than plugging numbers into some equation.
