If you want to get some exercise in logical analysis instead of using formal algebra, you might say
"half of 62 is 31; so 31 plus 31 is 62; but then 30 plus 32 is also 62...."
Even if this is an assignment where a formal algebraic solution is required, it can be good mental exercise just to analyze the problem logically to get the answer, or to get an estimate of what the answer should be.
