You run at 2 feet per second faster than the snake.
After 60 seconds, you and snake are 2500 feet away from each other.
What is your speed and what is snake's speed?
:
let s = the speed of the snake in ft/sec
then
(s+2) = your speed
:
Write a distance equation: dist = time * speed
60s + 60(s+2) = 2500
60s + 60s + 120 = 2500
120s = 2500 - 120
120s = 2380
s = 2380/120
s = 19.83 ft/sec is the snake speed
then obviously
21.83 ft/sec is your speed
