Question 1094868: could you please help me solve the equation for θ [0,2pi]
2 sin^2 θ − 1 = 0
there is a hint given that says that I may need to factor or use an identity but I don't not know how to get rid of the sin^2 because then I am left with sinθ= sqrt(-1/2)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2sin^2 - 1 = 0
2sin^2 = 1
sin^2 = 1/2
sin = sqrt(2)/2
theta = 45, 135 degs
------------
sin = -sqrt(2)/2
theta = 225, 315 degs
===========
Theta = pi/4, 3pi/4, 5pi/4, 7pi/4
