You can put this solution on YOUR website!
                  SPEED      TIME      DISTANCE

CONGESTED         r          1.25

FASTER           r+40        0.75

With S being the average speed on congested highway, we get the following DISTANCE equation: 1.25S + .75(S + 40) = 62
1.25S + .75S + 30 = 62
2S = 32
S, or speed on congested highway is: highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C4%2C+32%2F2%2C+%22=%22%2C+16%2C+%22km%2Fh%22%29%29
That's all! Nothing COMPLEX and/or CONFUSING!
Never, ever make problems like these more COMPLEX than they are by converting the given decimals to fractions, like the other person did.
Most people do not like to work with fractions so I'd advise you to stay away from them.
If you wish to convert the decimals, my advice would be to convert to WHOLE NUMBERS/INTEGERS, although this problem doesn't need any
conversions because as is obvious, 1.25S + .75S totals 2S. This is RIDICULOUS!!
