Question 1094377: Two factory plants are making TV panels. Yesterday, Plant A produced 15,000 panels. Ten percent of the panels from Plant A and 3% of the panels from Plant B were defective. You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the panels produced by Plant B be x.
Total produce by Panel A - 15,000
10% Defective :- 10% of 15,000
i.e. 1500
3% Defective by Plant B :- 3% of x
i.e. 3x/100
As given:
1500 + 3x/100 = 8% of total production by Plant A & B
Thus;
1500 + 3x/100 = 8/100 (15,000 + x)
1,50,000 + 3x = 1,20,000 + 8x
30,000 = 5x
x = 6,000
Hence, Plant B produce 6000 panels.
