Question 1093012: To determine height from skeletal remains, scientist use the equation H=2.26f+66.4, where h is the persons height in centimeters and f is the skeltons fémur length in centímeters the equation has a marginal of error of 3.42 centimeters. In a recent discovey the femur measured 51.6 centimeters. Write and solve inequality to find the range of possible heights. Please I dont know how to start.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The way I read it is: If you plug in some value for the femur length
( f ), then whatever you compute for +H+, the true value could
be as much as +3.42+ cm higher or lower than that
------------------------------------------------------------
given:
+f+=+51.6+ cm
+H+=+2.26%2A51.6+%2B+66.4+
+H+=+116.616+%2B+66.4+
+H+=+183.02+
and
+H+%2B+3.42+=+183.02+%2B+3.42+
+H+%2B+3.42+=+186.44+
and
+H+-+3.42+=+183.02+-+3.42+
+H+-+3.42+=+179.6+
--------------------------------
+H+ can be equal to or larger than the lower limit,
but must be less than or equal to the upper limit
+179.6+%3C=+H+%3C=+186.44+
----------------------------
