Question 1092794: Hi
the question is:
You made third place at a local skateboard competition and won $300. You also saved $80 cash. You decided to pay for the tickets while your friends pay for the transportation. Using the algebraic method and substitution, calculate the maximum number of tickets you can buy through CGC and whether you have money left over. Show working.
The data available is:
1st Ticket price = $35 (x1ppl)
Subsequent Ticket price = $20.50 (x10ppl)
11 People in Total
$380 Total saved money.
So the result should be 17 Tickets and I have $17 left. I just dont know how to put it in a algebraic method. Can you help???
Thank you so much already

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
380>35+(20.50)*x
345>20.50x
x<17, meaning x can be 16
16*20.50=$328
+35=$363, so 16 tickets after the first one or 17 tickets, and $17 left over. The inequality above is the equation.
