You can put this solution on YOUR website!
US interstate highway's post numbered markers every mile: 1, 1+1, 2+1, 3+1 ect, every consecutive mile goes up by 1.
The sum of 2 consecutive mile markers is 459. What are the numbers:
Let the smaller number be x. Then, the larger number will be x+1. Then,
x+x+1 = 459
2x = 458
x = 229 This is the smaller number. The larger number will be 229+1 = 230

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Call the consecutive numbers +n+ and +n%2B1+
+n+%2B+n+%2B+1+=+459+
+2n+%2B+1+=+459+
+2n+=+458+
+n+=+229+
and
+n+%2B+1+=+230+
The markers are 229 and 230
