clear the fractions, meaning multiply both by some number that will make the denominator 1. The product of the denominators involved always works. 7*2=14, so multiply everything by 14.
(2/7)*14=28/7=4
(1/2)*14=7
Y*14=14Y
Therefore, 4=7+14Y
14Y=-3
Y=-3/14
