800 x 80 = 8000 x 8 = 64000 cubic centimeters
64000/100 = 640 cubic meters
640 x 2.5 = your answer (use your calculator or do it in your head, I'll do it slowly for you: 2 times 640 = 1280 plus 0.5 640 = 320; 1280+320 = 1600 ton is the weight of the column)

The volume of the cylinder is V = pi%2Ar%5E2%2Ah = 3.14%2A0.4%5E2%2A8 = 4.0192 m%5E3.


The weight = 2.5 ton%2Fm%5E3 * 4.0192 m%5E3 = 10.048 ton.

Any other answer is WRONG.

Is that how the VOLUME of a cylinder is calculated nowadays: height times diameter? Is that how cc is converted to cubic meters nowadays? 
Good Lord!! These people now have their own way of calculating stuff and making up their own formulas.
I would never recommend people to ask for solution to a problem on here, since so many of these people TAKE PRIDE in giving
WRONG/INCORRECT/RIDICULOUS answers. If I had my way, I would ban them from this site, as most times, what they TRY to do don't make any sense at all.
Doing the calculation fast or slow will NEVER get you the correct answer in a million years.
