Question 1089420: Given the system of linear equations, -x + y = 5 and 4x + y = 10 I am trying to use substitution to find the solution to this linear equation and algebraically to verify my answer this is how i got thus far
-x + y = 5
4x(-x + y) = 5
-4x + 4y = 5 - 10
-4x = -5
4y = -5
4 4
0 does not = -1 am I doing this right it does not lllook right to me Answer by MathLover1(20850) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! .....eq.1 .........eq2
------------------------------------
if you want to use substitution, start with eq.1 and solve it for or .....eq.1 I will solve it or .....substitute it in eq2
.........eq2...solve
now, go to .....substitute and solve
