Question 1088083: Suppose a quadratic equation is derived from a rational algebraic eqaution. How do you check if the solutions of the quadratic equation are also the solutions of the rational algebraic equation?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You just do as you suggested. Check the results IN the original rational equation. Do both solutions work or not? Does either quadratic solution make the original rational equation undefined? If so, then that value is not one of the solutions anymore.
