Let n be the amount of time it takes Mark to finish the house. Then Jessie would be n+5. So:
1/n + 1/n+5=1/6
6n+30+6n=nē+5n
nē-7n-30=0
(n-10)(n+3)=0
n=10 or -3
It would take Mark 10 hours to finish the house alone, and Jessie would take 15
