You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the point of intersection and the angle between y=5x-2 and y=3x+6.
Use absolute (positive) value of the angle.
Find the point of intersection
y = y therefore
5x - 2 = 3x + 6
5x - 3x = 6 + 2
2x = 8
x = 4
find y
y = 5(4)-2
y = 18
Answer: point of intersection is (4,18)
:
angle of intersection is _________
degrees (round-off to 2 decimal places)
Use the slopes to find the angle of intersection
tan(A) = %28%28m1-m2%29%29%2F%28%281+%2B+m1%2Am2%29%29
tan(A) = %28%285-3%29%29%2F%28%281+%2B+5%2A3%29%29
tan(A) = 2%2F16
A = 7.125 ~ 7.13 degrees
