The arithmetic mean of the terms  a%5Bn-1%5D = -4  and  a%5Bn%2B1%5D = -11  is

%28%28-4%29+%2B+%28-11%29%29%2F2 = -15%2F2 = -7.5.

Same as the arithmetic mean of the two numbers -4 and -11.
