You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Let x be the son's present age.
Then the father's present age is 4x years.

In 4 years, the son's age will be x+4 yeras, while the father's ge will be 4x + 4.

The condition says

4x+4 = 3*(x+4).

Simplify and solve it:

4x + 4 = 3x + 12  ====>  x = 12 - 4 = 8.   Thus the son's present age is 8 years.

Then the father's present age is 4*8 = 32 years.

Solved.
