Question 1086926: What type of hypothesis test would you use in the following situations?
1. A researcher wants to determine if high school students can text faster on the current model of an LG phone or on a new model. Thirty-eight students are asked to send scripted texts on each model and texting times are recorded.
2. A researcher wants to know if the same percentage of male and female students are active Facebook users. She conducts a survey asking students to identify their gender and answer a yes/no question about whether they actively use a Facebook account.
3. Of the active Facebook users, another researcher hypothesizes that male and female students create the same number of posts over one week. The number of posts are recorded for 68 female students and 57 male students.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Ho: texting times are the same or faster for the current model compared to the new model tLG <=tNM
Ha: texting times are slower for the current model tLG > tNM, slower times being larger. (one tail test)
============================
Ho:proportion of men=proportion of women
Ha:proportion of men NE proportion of women (two tail test)
============================
Ho: average posts per man=average posts per woman.
Ha: average posts per man NE average posts per woman. (two tail test, different number of men and women, so can't use absolute numbers)
