3X+12=X-7 SUBTRACT X FROM BOTH SIDES & SUBTRACT 12 FROM BOTH SIDES.
3X-X=-7-12 COMBINE LIKE TERMS.
2X=-19 DIVIDE BOTH SIDES BY 2
X=-19/2 ANSWER.
