multiply both sides of the equation by -2 to get x > -5 * -2

simplify to get x > 10

notice that when you multiply both sides of an inequality by a negative number, it reverses the inequality.

for example, you know 4 > 3

when you multiply both sides of this inequality by -1, you get -4 < -3.

if you did not reverse the inequality, you would have gotten -4 > -3 which si not true.
