You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi there,
3x - 7y = 14
Put in y = mx + c form
-7y = -3x + 14
-y = -3/7x + 2
y = 3/7x - 2
Slope = 3/7
Parallel lines have the same slope.
y = 3/7x + c
Substitute coordinates in equation. (-6, 10)
y = 3/7x + c
10 = 3/7 (-6) + c
10 = -18/7 + c
c = 10 + 18/7
Convert 10 to sevenths
10 = 70/7
c = 70/7 + 18/7
c = 88/7
Point slope form:
y = 3/7x + 88/7
or multiply through by 7
7y = 3x + 88
Hope this helps :-)
