Question 108319: The U.S. population in 1990 was approximately 250 million, and the average growth rate for the past 30 years gives a doubling time of 66 years. The formula is P(in millions)=250 * 2 (y-1990/66)
What will the population of the united states be in 2025 if this growth continues?
Please help I have no idea how to get this started.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P(year) = 250 * 2^(y-1990/66) ; Population is millions.
What will the population of the united states be in 2025 if this growth continues?
----------
P(2025) = 250*2^[(2025-1990/66]
P(2025) = 250*2^[35/66]
P(2025) = 250*1.44423...
P(2025) = 361.058 millions

The U.S. population in 1990 was approximately 250 million, and the average growth rate for the past 30 years gives a doubling time of 66 years. The formula is:
P+%28in-+millions%29+=+250+%2A+2%28y-1990%29%2F66
What will the population of the United States be in 2025 if this growth rate continues?

P=250%2A2%282025-1990%29%2F66
P=250%2A2%2835%2F66%29….divide 2 and 66 by 2
P+=+250%2A%2835%2F33%29
P=250%2A1.06
P=265-million
