Question 1082708: the cylinder has a hole cut from it in the shape of a rectangle prism. The cylinder is 12 cm in diameter and 15cm long. The base of the rectangular prism has a length of 10cm and a width of 2 cm. find the surface area and volume of a cylinder

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The answers will be combinations of the volumes,
base surface areas and lateral surface areas of
the original cylinder (before the hole was made),
and the prism cut out of it.

The volume of that "holey" cylinder is
the volume of the cylinder before the hole was made, minus
the volume of the prism that was cut out of it.
The surface area of that "holey" cylinder is a bit more complicated.

There are two bases
that were circles before the whole was made,
but a rectangular part of each bbq base is missing.
There is a curved lateral area on the outside
that is the lateral area of the ooriginal, uncut cylinder.
There is also some surface area inside the hole,
and that is the, same as the lateral area of the prism that was cut out.
