Question 1080161: A woman is one-half as old as her mother. The sum of their ages is 75. What are their ages?
Answer by kvijioct(5) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let the mother's age be 'x'
So, the woman's age is 'x/2'
Sum of their ages is 75.
So, x+(x/2)=75
(2x+x)/2=75
3x/2=75
3x=75*2
3x=150
x=150/3
x=50
So, the mother's age=50 years
the woman's age=x/2
=50/2
=25 years
