Question 1079904: Graph each function; identify the domain and range; and compare the graph with the graph of y = 1/x.
1. y = 1 / -x - 2. Domain: Range: Compare:

This is a fraction problem. I just need help on the fraction problem. I'll figure out the graph part.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To find domain, set denominator = 0 and solve for x.

For y = 1/x, you can see right away that when x = 0, the fraction becomes undefined.

Let D = domain

D = {x can be any real number except for 0}

It is always easier to find the range by graphing the function.

Let R = range

R = {y can be any real number except for 0}

Do the same thing for the other function.
