Question 1079580: Just need help with p value?
A study is made of residents in Phoenix and its suburbs concerning the proportion of residents who subscribe to Sporting News. A random sample of 86 urban residents showed that 11 subscribed, and a random sample of 97 suburban residents showed that 20 subscribed. Does this indicate that a higher proportion of suburban residents subscribe to Sporting News? Use a 1% level of significance.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I get 0.1588 with a two way test with the same z-value.
With a one way test, however, which this question asks (not whether they are the same but whether one is higher), I get p=0.0794. One way tests have half the p-value of two way tests, since they are putting all the probability into one side of the curve.
