You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The volume of a cone is
:
volume(V) = (1/3) * pi * r^2 * h, where pi = 22/7, r is radius of base, h is height
:
V = (1/3) * (22/7) * (12/2)^2 * 16 = 603.1858 cubic cm's
:
The cone is half filled
:
(1/2) * 603.1858 = 301.5929 cubic cm's
:
we use the formula for V to calculate the height for half filled cone
:
301.5929 = (1/3) * pi * (12/2)^2 * h
:
37.6991 * h = 301.5929
:
h = 8.000002653 approx 8 cm
:
*****************************************
The depth of the half filled cone is 8 cm
