You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
Let assume that Latrice started with L coins, while Megan started with M coins.
Then after 2 weeks Latrice has 2L + 200 coins, while
Megan has 2*(M+85) coins, as the condition says.
Also, the condition says that after two weeks
2L + 200 = 2*(M+85).
It is equivalent to
L + 100 = M + 85, or M - L = 15.
It means that the two girls started with DIFFERENT numbers of coins.
SOLVED.

Hey, "josgarithmetic",
I just asked you many times: what are you doing in this forum ?
Do you understand that you perform a role of a "local town idiot" in the forum ?
You are not able NEITHER solve correctly the problems, NOR explain the solutions in a way how it should be done . . .
Do you understand that when you appear here in the forum, you simple steel the opportunity from other tutors to do their work
in a way as it should be done ?
What is even worst, you steel the opportunity from students to learn on how to solve the problems correctly and to get
correct explanations.
I perfectly understand that there are problems there you can do something useful.
These problems are on line equations, intercepts, completing the square . . .
Work in this area and do not go across these borders to other areas where you are not an expert.
Nobody will touch you.
But if you will write in other subjects, I will criticize you every time you are wrong.
Do you understand me perfectly ?
If not, I will ask the supervisors of the forum to EXCLUDE you from the forum.
"josgarithmetic", GO AWAY FROM THE FORUM !
