You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
Ana can paint her house by herself in 4 days. Her son need an additional day to complete the job if he works by himself.
If they work together, find how long it takes to paint the house ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If Ana works alone, she makes of the work per day (each day).
If her son works alone, he makes of the work per day (each day).
When they work together, their combined rate is = = .
In other words, if they work together, they make of the work per day.
So, their combined rate of work is of the job per day.
Hence, they will complete the job in days =  of the day.
Hey, "josgarithmetic",
I just asked you many times: what are you doing in this forum ?
Do you understand that you perform a role of a "local town idiot" in the forum ?
You are not able NEITHER solve correctly any problem, NOR explain it in a way in how it should be done . . .
Do you understand that when you appear here in the forum, you simple steel the opportunity from other tutors to do their work
in a way as it should be done ?
What is even worst, you steel the opportunity from students to learn on how to solve the problem correctly and to get
correct explanations.
I perfectly understand that there are problems there you can do something useful.
These problems are on line equations, intercepts, completing the square . . .
Work in this area and do not go across these borders to other areas where you are not an expert.
Nobody will touch you.
But if you will write in other subjects, I will criticize you every time you are wrong.
Do you understand me perfectly ?
If not, I will ask the supervisors of the forum to EXCLUDE you from the forum.
