You can put this solution on YOUR website! When we must match an equation with it's graph, we can simply graph the given equation.
You can pick either equation to match, but I find the first equation to be easier.
So let's graph
In order to graph , let's plot some points
First let x=0
Plug in x=0
Simplify
So when x=0, y=1. This means we have one point of (0,1)
Now let x=1
Plug in x=1
Simplify
So when x=1, y=2. This means we have one point of (1,2)
Now let x=2
Plug in x=2
Simplify
So when x=2, y=4. This means we have one point of (2,4)
Now let x=3
Plug in x=3
Simplify
So when x=3, y=8. This means we have one point of (3,8)
You can evaluate more x values, but this should be enough to see the basic shape of the graph.
So essentially we have a table of these values
Now let's plot all the points on the same coordinate system
Now draw a line through the points. The more points you plot, the better picture you get of what the graph should look like.
So when we look at the graph
we can see that the topmost graph is the equation and the other graph is by process of elimination
