Question 1077685: Recall that two angles are complementary if the sum of their measures is 90°. Find the measures of two complementary angles if one angle is twice the other.
All I have been able to come up with is: x+y=90. And x=2y. However it doesn't make sense. Please help!

Find the measures of two complementary angles if one angle is twice the other.

-------------
x+y=90.
And x=2y
============
Sub for x in the 1st equation
-----
2y + y = 90
3y = 90
y = 30
----------
x = 60
