Question 1077441: Solve for x to the nearest hundredth
2^x = 3/16
2^(x+4) = 3
x+4 = +log%28+2%2C+3+%29+
x = +log%28+2%2C+3+%29+ - 4
How do I solve this to the nearest hundredth?? How do I calculate the log?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2%5Ex=3%2F16
2%5Ex=3%2A2%5E%28-4%29
If choose base ten,
log%28%282%5Ex%29%29=log%28%283%29%29%2Blog%28%282%5E%28-4%29%29%29
x%2Alog%28%282%29%29=log%28%283%29%29-4%2Alog%28%282%29%29
x=%28log%28%283%29%29-4%2Alog%28%282%29%29%29%2Flog%28%282%29%29

Now either check in log table or use electronic calculator.

If you wanted to use base two instead, you would then need Change of Base formula for log%282%2C3%29.
