from what i understand, .....

she gives 20% to archana and 40% to mukti.

that's total of 60% she gave away.

she has 40% left.

let x = the amount she started with.

.4 * x = 30

solve for x to get x = 30 / .4 = 75

she started with 75.

she gives 20% to archana = 15.

she gives 40% to mukti = 30.

she gave away a total of 45.

she has 75 - 45 = 30 left.

looks ok to me.
