Question 1076564: Not quite sure where to begin here:
roulette wheel has 38 pockets. One is numbered 0, another 00, and the rest are numbered fro 1- to 36. Except for 0 and 00, which are colored green, the numbers on the roulette alternate between red and black. A bet is on red or black. Suppose you bet one dollar on red. If a red number comes up, you get your dollar back and win another dollar.
If a black or green number comes up, you lose your dollar. In the box model, there are ______tickets showing ____ and____ tickets showing _________.
Answer by math_helper(2461) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 18 red, 18 black, 2 green (0 and 00). Bet is on red with payout $1.00 for a $1.00 bet.
The box model views the probability problem as if you were drawing tickets from a box.

The 18 tickets showing $1.00 correspond to winning (red number comes up)
The 20 tickets showing -$1.00 correspond to the chances of losing (black or green comes up)
