Remember, if the diameter is 30, then the radius is 15

The volume of a cylinder can be found by the formula
V+=+pi%2AR%5E2%2AH

Now plug in R=15 and H=48

V = pi%2A15%5E2%2A48+=+33929.20062


Edit: Now divide that result by 231 to convert from cubic inches to gallons to get 33929.20062%2F231+=+146.87. So the tank can approximately hold 147 gallons (after rounding). Note: 1 gallon = 231 cubic inches.
