Question 1076239: I am 72 and should know how to solve this. Very easy but having a senior moment.
I need to know the radius. The circumference is exactly 24 feet. I am trying to put a metal edge around a tree and my edging's length is 24 feet. So I need to know the radius. Found 2 solutions by jorel1380, addingup:Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Take the circumference and divide it by Pi. Most if not all cell phones have a calculator, if yours doesn't have a key for Pi you can use 3.1416. Then divide the result by 2. let's do it:
:
24/Pi = 7.64
7.64/2 = 3.82 or use this fraction with your measuring tape: 3 13/16
