Then the speed of the trolley is (V-6) mph.


The condition says 

155%2FV = 124%2F%28V-6%29.


Both sides are the travel times.
Indeed, the Left side is the travel time for the car, while the right side is the travel time for the trolley.

From the equation,

155*(V-6) = 124*V.
