You can put this solution on YOUR website!

let adults be a and children c
if the ratio of adults to children is 8 to 14, than
a%2Fc=8%2F14....simplify
a%2Fc=4%2F7....eq.1
solve for a
a=4c%2F7........(1a)

if there are 352 people in the theater, than we have
a%2Bc=352........eq.2
substitute a from (1a)

4c%2F7%2Bc=352..........both sides multiply by 7
%284c%2F7%297%2B7c=352%2A7
4c%2B7c=2464
11c=2464
c=2464%2F11
highlight%28c=224%29=> highlight%28224%29 children are there
now find the number of adults:
a=%284%2A224%29%2F7........(1a)
a=896%2F7
highlight%28a=128%29=> highlight%28128%29 adults are there
